Bomi Group, a market leader in the biomedical logistics sector and the management of high technology healthcare products which is listed on the multilateral trading system of AIM Italia, is pleased to announce the opening of its new 4,000 sq m hub in Monterotondo (Rome), to offer its clients improved transport quality and speed of service in the regions of central and southern Italy.
The Monterotondo hub represents an important link in the temperature controlled transport network of Bomi Group, which, in addition to the strategic hubs located in Chignolo d’Isola (BG) and Nogarole Rocca (VR), benefits from a further 3 regional platforms close to Modena, Florence and Bari. The Bomi network specialises in the transport of biomedical, diagnostic, pharmceutical products and supplements to hospitals, homes, pharmacies and analytical laboratories and complies with Good Distribution Practices (GDP) and Italian and European regulations. The network is also engaged in special services such as 24/7 urgent deliveries of life-saving products, the management and transport of hazardous materials as governed by ADR regulations (transport of dangerous materials by road) and home deliveries to patients suffering from chronic illnesses.
The Monterotondo hub, which also functions as a storage warehouse, is strategically located a few kilometres from the capital and adjacent to the Autostrada del Sole, the principal motorway between Milan and Naples via Rome utilised by Bomi’s fleet for transport from South to North and vice versa; is equipped with a climatisation plant which allows it to maintain temperatures stable within a range of 5°-25°C, and with dedicated cells for products requiring a stable temperature environment of 2-8 °C. In addition, a temperature controlled transport fleet operating out of Monterotondo is capable of servicing Rome, Lazio and the other neighbouring regions.
The inauguration of Monterotondo represents a significant step forward for the network of Bomi Group as evidenced by the statement issued by Federico Mancini, Manager of the Rome Operating Unit: “This new logistics hub consolidates BOMI’s presence in Italy and underlines our constant commitment to providing clients with an excellent service dedicated exclusively to the healthcare sector.”
