BOMI GROUP FURTHER EXPANDS IN ITALY

Bomi Group, leader in the biomedical logistics sector and in the management of high technology healthcare products, listed on the multilateral trading AIM Italy, announces that it has completed the acquisition of “De Salute S.r.l”, an Italian company specialized in the logistics and value added services for the Healthcare sector and based in Soresina (Cremona).

Founded in 1999, De Salute has rapidly become an important logistic player within the Italian market, focusing its offer on the management of pharmaceutical products, biotech, food supplements and medical devices. Since 2007 De Salute has steadily rated by turnover among the top 300 Italian logistics companies and in the first 15 among those who deal with pharmaceutical logistics. To achieve these objectives De Salute has invested in three key pillars: structures, technological innovation and professional growth of its staff. In the two warehouses located in Soresina, with a total surface of around 21.000 sqm, De Salute stocks healthcare products at controlled temperature (15-25 °C) and offers also two Pharmaceutical Labs for the processing of secondary packaging, including narcotics, connected to a vast GMP site. In 2016, the company generated turnover amounting to about EUR 9.3 millions.

The acquisition is in line with the Bomi Group’s ongoing strategy of consolidation in Europe aimed, above all, at expanding its service offerings in a market that not only features promising value-added prospects but also enables the Group to benefit from interesting synergies in the transport services.

Giorgio Ruini, Bomi Group Chairman, commented: “We are delighted to have reached this agreement with a company renowned for excellence in Italy, with values and aspirations that fully reflect those of Bomi Group. Besides boosting Bomi’s expertise in the biotech and pharmaceutical sectors, this transaction is set to increase Bomi’s vertical capabilities and know-how, thanks especially to De Salute’s vast experience in pharmaceutical secondary repackaging. From our part, we sincerely hope that Bomi’s international network could prove to be a lever for growth and for streamlining processes for all our customers”.

Maria Rosa Stellari, CEO of De Salute S.r.l., added: “I am exceedingly happy that our company is now part of the Bomi Group, especially since this step will open new growth opportunities for De Salute. We shall continue to collaborate with our usual professionalism but with added passion, with a view to ensuring that our organisation becomes increasingly synonymous with reliability for the pharmaceutical industry.”
