Bomi Group through the Picking Farma brand announces the forthcoming opening of the new logistics centre near Madrid dedicated to the Healthcare sector

The warehouse, which construction work has already begun, will involve an investment of 15 million euros and the creation of 150 new job opportunities.

The new logistics platform will join the seven already present in Spain, including one near Madrid, four in Catalonia and two in the Canary Islands.

This new logistics centre will cover an area of 25,000 m² and a capacity of 60,000 pallets, making it one of the largest reference warehouses in the European pharmaceutical sector.

Bomi Group, a multinational leader in the field of integrated logistics at the service of the Healthcare sector, thanks to the recent acquisition of Picking Farma, leader in logistics for the pharmaceutical sector in Spain, will open a new state-of-the-art warehouse near Madrid, establishing itself as a solid player in strong expansion in Europe and Latin America.

The construction of the new logistics centre will involve an investment of 15 Million Euros. It is expected that, when fully operational, the platform will employ a total of 150 people, which would bring the company’s workforce in Spain to around 400 employees, a mix of young talents and experienced workers with specific skills adapted to local needs.

Under the program agreed with the VGP Group, one of the leading pan-European companies in the development and management of state-of-the-art logistics parks, the new warehouse will be operational from the first quarter of 2023.

The new Bomi Group facility – identified under the Picking Farma brand – is added to the seven that the company currently has in Spain, of which one near Madrid, four in Catalonia and two in the Canary Islands as well as the warehouse in Montijo (Portugal) operated through an exclusive partner.

After the acquisition of an important company such as Picking Farma, with the opening of the new warehouse in Madrid, we will not only consolidate our presence in the pharmaceutical logistics sector in Spain, for the benefit of customers and their needs, through deliveries and high-value ad hoc services, but we will also guarantee numerous new jobs for both young and experienced workers in the sector” – said Felipe Morgulis, COO of Bomi Group.

The new platform will be the largest of all the offices that the company currently has in Spain.

The San Fernando de Henares complex will allow the Group to enhance its activity aimed at the Healthcare sector not only dedicated to pharmaceutical products, but also to medical devices and equipment for hospitals. These are three business lines that require very different types of storage and logistics conditions. Therefore, the new facility will include multiple temperature-controlled areas depending on the type of product managed and a technical room dedicated to the management and repair of diagnostic equipment.

The goal is for the new logistics centre to be one of the most innovative and best equipped in Europe at the service of Healthcare, relying on cutting-edge automation solutions.
