Welcome day in Spino D’Adda

On Friday 6th September 2019, water dispensers were installed in the new Spino D’Adda Headquarters, where the employees can take free still and sparkling water.

This project is part of a bigger plan for Bomi, which is developing the theme of #sustainability as an opportunity to be seized.

The free water initiative, now launched in the headquarters for over 150 employees, will be extended to all other Italian branches. During the Welcome Day a branded thermos was delivered to each employee together with some tips to reduce the environmental impact caused by the plastic.

As was also highlighted during the event, it was estimated that over 400 plastic bottles pro capite are consumed in Italy. Furthermore, as reported by the WWF report, “86 million tons of plastic are sailing in our oceans”.

Marco Ruini – Bomi Group CEO – introduced the event recalling that “for Bomi Group Sustainability is one of the key pillars of the corporate strategy”. He also wanted to remember that “We are ready to continue our mission in a new space, forefront and always more sustainable”.

Since 2017, Bomi Group has been taking the path of Sustainability following the “triple bottom line” approach.
During the event, some work in progress projects were mentioned together with the “Sustainable Logistics” trademark obtained in 2018.

The new Headquarters in Spino D’Adda also has strong features related to the sustainability: for example, the general reduction in the number of shuttles between other logistics sites in Lombardy will generate savings of around 60 tons of CO2 emissions per year.

Soraya Espejo – Bomi Group Global Director | HR – concluded “few and small daily actions are necessary to live in a healthy and sustainable environment.” She ended asking for the active participation of all employees.
