Global Senior Compliance Specialist

We are looking for a talented Global Senior Compliance Specialist to support the Bomi Executive Leadership Team in maintaining the organization’s legal and ethical integrity, taking the responsibility for the necessary compliance duties and obligations of the organization.

The place of work is Spino d’Adda (Cremona), but frequent trips to Italy and abroad are required.

Therefore, for candidates residing abroad, willingness to transfer to Milan, Lombardy (Italy) is required.

 

Description

The Global Senior Compliance Specialist ensures that the compliance policies laid down by the organization are strictly followed and adhered to by all leaders and employees, and that the messaging and the behaviors of the organization reflect the rules and regulations of the company. It involves designing compliance plans, guiding and educating the management and staff on compliance matters, updating knowledge on recent regulatory changes, and responding in case of government investigations.

Responsibilities

  • Support the CFO in making sure that Leadership, Management and employees all comply with the rules dictated by the regulatory bodies at any level (eg. ISO standards, Health & Safety in the workplace, Administrative liability for crimes, Anti-corruption, Privacy and Data Protection, Procurement contracts and joint liability, etc.) in order to ensure uninterrupted business continuity;
  • Support the COO and CFO in ensuring that company policies are implemented and respected accordingly and that the behavior of individuals within the organization is in accordance with the corporate standards of conduct;
  • Develop and roll-out of company’s corporate Compliance Program, also designing and delivering training and “train-the-trainer” guidance related to it;
  • Identify suspicious transactions and activities through internal auditing, according to the annual plan;
  • Manage the company “Speak-Up” reporting systems and any resulting internal investigations;
  • Supervise and monitor the internal compliance processes, with coordination activities between the various countries;
  • Verify the presence of mandatory authorizations and certifications of all company offices (eg SCIA, CPI, Emissions, Waste, etc.);
  • Support the Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs team in the elaboration of corporate documents (procedures, guidelines, operating instructions, etc.) and verify their correct application through internal auditing activities;
  • Supervise and control the regularity (contribution, social security, tax, etc.) of suppliers and contractors;
  • Support the CFO in risk analysis and management activities and in particular: a) mapping of processes and types of loss events and risk factors at multiple levels; b) selection of the types of risks to be faced with suitable preventive actions in accordance with company objectives and the correlation with external constraints and regulatory and supervisory obligations; c) definition of the policies for the prevention, detection, management and monitoring of operational risks.
  • Primary point of contract for People&Culture department to ensure proper management of: on-boarding, compliance trainings, certifications and exit interviews of employees.

Basic Qualifications

  • Degree in Law, Economics, Engineering or similar
  • 5+ years’ experience in the field of Legal and Compliance in multinational organizations
  • Proven knowledge of the regulations subject to compliance activities (Health & Safety in the workplace, Administrative liability for crimes, Anti-corruption, Privacy and Data Protection, Procurement contracts and joint liability) related to business continuity
  • Basic knowledge of business/quality management systems and reference standards (ISO)
  • Familiarity with the main IT supports and knowledge of the Microsoft Office 365 package
  • Fluent in English (C1 level)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Compliance and Data Protection training certifications
  • Internal Auditor and / or Risk Management certifications
  • Knowledge of a second language (Italian and French are preferred)
  • Knowledge of logistics and transportation sector
