Bomi Group joins the Adecco Foundation in the #EmergenciaPorElEmpleo project

This initiative, in Spain, will enable women at risk of social exclusion to equip themselves with skills and competencies to access sustainable employment thanks to a personalized plan tailored to their needs

This project is supported by Bomi Group’s Gender Equality Plan promoted by the pharmaceutical logistics company

Bomi Group, a multinational leader in integrated logistics serving the health sector, presents its collaboration with the Adecco Foundation, in Spain, in the #EmergenciaPorElEmpleo project.

Bomi Group’s support to this project consists in the sponsorship of three women in a situation of risk of social exclusion, who will be given training to improve their skills and abilities to improve their chances of getting a job. Both companies will accompany the selected women in this process with a transversal and individualized plan, tailored according to their needs.

The #EmergenciaPorElEmpleo initiative started in 2020, in the middle of the pandemic, when the Adecco Foundation, an entity whose mission is the inclusion of people at risk of social exclusion in the labour market, detected that, as with other similar crises, the Covid-19 pandemic would increase the vulnerability of women who, due to other circumstances, already had difficulties accessing the labour market.

In the words of Francisco Mesonero, general manager of the Adecco Foundation: « The fact that Bomi Group has supported this initiative will undoubtedly contribute to the inclusion of women in a largely masculinized sector. We are two entities very aligned in terms of providing the support needed to respond to this social reality« .

Bomi Group now joins this initiative as a strategic part of its Gender Equality Plan for which, in addition to working with the Adecco Foundation, it carries out further internal initiatives for concrete equality between men and women in the company, such as training and awareness workshops or career plans with equal opportunities for the growth and development of its employees. Moreover, the company has recently adhered to FWW’s « Decálogo Compromiso por la Igualdad ».

On this matter, Oscar Pérez García, Global Commercial & Marketing Sr director of Bomi Group wanted to highlight: « At Bomi we offer diversity and inclusion plans to improve equal opportunities for all. We have programs to support young talents, as well as solutions for the work-life balance of our employees, like the opportunity of smart-working. In this way, we try to make our employees more motivated and better performing, since they are the heart of the Bomi organization ».

The beneficiaries sponsored by Bomi Group and the Adecco Foundation within the framework of #EmergenciaPorElEmpleo are long-term unemployed women, victims of gender-based violence, and/or women with unshared family responsibilities or caring for dependents who are also out of the labour market for an extended period of time, and who, in short, need to regain confidence in order to face a return to employment. Within this project, women will receive comprehensive support that involves emotional support, technical training, employment skills workshops and job guidance. Put simply, this is a plan that will help improve soft skills for returning to work.

« This issue is very much close to our hearts, we needed to give a message of hope and awareness through helping vulnerable women, whose situations were  exacerbated by the pandemic. We have a clear objective and all the team motivation to achieve it« , said Javier Pacha Revilla, Bomi Group Head of P&C Iberia, Uk and Benelux.

To date, more than 1,450 people have been helped under #EmergenciaPorElEmpleo since the project was launched in 2020: of these people, 930 are women in vulnerable situations or at risk of social exclusion, representing 64% of the people aided by the project. Thanks to #EmergenciaPorElEmpleo, 348 women in vulnerable situations have managed to  secure a job.
