STARTING WITH AUTOMATION PROCESSES IN THE WAREHOUSE OF TUZLA

New Milestone achieved by successfully implementing the Camera Based Multi-Code Scanning System – designed by SISKON – in Bomi Group’s Turkish warehouse of Tuzla (Istanbul)

Bomi Group, a leading multinational company in integrated logistics for the Healthcare sector, achieved new milestone in its digital transformation path, and a first step in the automation way, with the successful implementation of the Camera Based Multi-Code Scanning System.

The imaging requirements checking, applicable for all healthcare sector’s products, is based on a system of six SICK picoCam series cameras installed in a closed area on a conveyor line. In this way, a sequence of warehouse operations, previously carried out manually by operators, has been automated.

With the aim of fulfilling the operational standards designed for each customer, it is possible to scan up to 60 products at once, and integrate the accurate data into the WMS system within seconds. Process automation and the manual double check are the keys to ensure the applicability of tailor made value-added solutions.

Bomi Group confirms its position as a primary role player in the field of operational standardization and digitization, in line with the Group’s 2020 strategy in an area – the warehouse automation – of strategic interest.

We are proud to have implemented this project” explains Alen Voskericyan – Head of Eurasia & MENA Cluster “which makes a fundamental first step towards a Supply Chain 4.0, in order to be more competitive and offer our customers tailor made solutions with high value”

Bomi Group’s team in Turkey has responded to the challenges and contributed with its skills and know-how to this process and along with supporting the implementation of this new project, in order to continuous optimization and management of the supply chain.
