Bomi Group continues its expansion and acquires Tendron Pharma in France

The company is aiming for further expansion in the French market with the acquisition of Tendron’s distribution arm for medical products, ranging from devices to pharmaceuticals.

The Tendron Pharma’s acquisition is the continuation of a strategic operation on French soil that began with a number of important innovations at the Bussy-Saint-Georges branch, including the inauguration of its own internal fleet, the installation of a cold storage room, ISO 13485 certification.

Bomi Group, a leading multinational integrated logistics company operating in the Healthcare sector, has announced the acquisition by its French subsidiary of Tendron Pharma, the division of Tendron Transports – an independent company founded in 1963 – dedicated to the transport of pharmaceutical products.

Tendron Pharma has a fleet of 25 proprietary vehicles – made up of both vans and trucks -, all temperature-controlled +15+25° C, which in the Ile-de-France region transports drugs and devices from the pharmaceutical plant to distributors, including pharmacies, hospitals and doctors.

For environmentally-responsible logistics, the fleet, driven by drivers trained in the specific activity of delivering pharmaceutical products, includes Euro 6-standard heavy-duty vehicles and light CNG vehicles equipped with instruments to measure the CO² footprint of each delivery.

Through a Personal Digital Assistant, customers can monitor the route of the goods in real time, scanned by the drivers, and have a photo of the delivery note taken at the time of delivery, immediately available, a strategic operation with a view to dematerialising procedures.

Tendron Pharma has a 2,500 m2 temperature-controlled facility with a capacity of 1,200 pallets for the storage of the goods, which are treated with a customised and consistent approach according to the product’s storage needs.

The acquisition of Tendron Pharma is the continuation of a strategic operation on French soil initiated by the Bomi Group a short time ago with some important innovations concerning the Bussy-Saint-Georges subsidiary. In particular, the ISO 13485 certification, the installation of a cold storage room and the inauguration of its own internal fleet. The latter is made up of a number of vehicles dedicated to HEALTH TECH, i.e. the management of technical transport of high-value instruments, and will soon be supplemented by additional vehicles dedicated to transport at controlled temperatures of +15°/+25°C, with a strategic focus on deliveries to patients’ homes.

With this innovation, for the first time in France, Bomi Group will be able to carry out transport services with its own vehicles and drivers, limiting the contribution of third-party partners, and ensuring quality, continuity and service standards throughout the chain.

In France, Bomi Group, with the acquisition of an important branch of Tendron such as Pharma, continues its path of growth and development of assets and services – said Stefano Camurri, Head of Cluster Italy&Francedi Bomi Group – With this latest operation, Bomi Group further expands its presence in the territory, adapting the changes to the local realities and needs, making a difference in the market for the benefit of customers. Specialised personnel, a proprietary fleet, attention to sustainability policies, thanks to internal controls and protocols, allow the Bomi Group to increase the value and prestige of the company, which makes it possible to ‘distribute’ health to citizens through the timely, precise and safe delivery to customers, and an ‘end-to-end’ supply chain management from the factory to the final patient“.

Currently, Bomi Group in France has an active portfolio of around 30 customers including large multinationals and local medium-sized companies mainly in the IVD (in vitro diagnostics), diagnostic imaging and hospital equipment sectors.

“We are very pleased with this important step. Tendron Pharma, by joining the Bomi Group, will generate more added value and will continue to provide high standards and quality of service “, concludes Erik Orliaguet, CEO and owner of Transports Tendron.
